Weekends are so precious. If you’re working 5 days a week, 2 days off don’t seem like enough. There’s so much to do: catching up on sleep, long meals with your family, meeting friends for coffee, working out in the gym, going out for a lovely meal in the evening and more dreaded tasks like grocery shopping or laundry.
What we’ve done over the last 2 weekends was the opposite for us. We planned nothing. We did nothing.
The water crisis in Cape Town, South Africa, is all over the news. Over the last few weeks, “Day Zero” was mentioned more frequently. It’s the day when Cape Town would have to shut off most of its water systems. These are frightening news, especially for someone who like me lives in the desert. If this can happen in Cape Town, it can certainly hit my desert home! We’ve asked our beloved reader Heidi Maggot who lives with her family of 5 what it’s really like to live in Cape Town now.

Spring Clearing Week is almost here! Yes, it’s clearing, not cleaning! From 24-30 March 2018, we and other members of APDO Association of Professional Declutterers & Organisers are in a bid to help the nation remember to take stock of their stuff at least once a year!
You may have wondered where the last article was. Well, we managed to crash our very own website. It was me who decided to run an update before uploading last week’s article. What a mistake that was! Something went wrong and nothing worked anymore.

We had 2 special guests stay with us for the last 2 weeks. It was fun. They loved the beach and the warm weather, soaking up every ray of sunshine they could. We laughed over dinner and (over) indulged when it came to dessert. But now, they’re back home and we’re cleaning the house. What are the best ways for cleaning after your guests leave?
