Organise your closet (Part 3)

Part 3 The 3 final touches

I’m so excited that you’re following this little mini-series to organise your closet. How is your closet looking by now? Don’t you just love the transformation? Whenever I declutter, I get the feeling of believe. Like some weight has been lifted from my shoulders. What did you experience during this process?

Today, we’re going through the final touches to create a new closet with what we have. There’s no need for any fancy remodelling, just a few touches and you can open those closet doors with joy again!

Reconsider the light in your closet. A lot of closets that I’ve decluttered didn’t have great lighting. If your closet is a walk in one, change the ceiling light and use spot lights to direct the beam into a specific direct. You can also use battery-operated lights which are attached underneath a shelf.

Add a chair to get dressed easily. No matter what age, you can enjoy the process of getting dressed. Getting ready for a big event or taking it a bit slower in the morning, a chair can give you that extra bit of support. Check out those chairs which double function as a storage space, e.g. for blankets.

Include a folding area. Whether you’ll have a table in the middle of your closet or a pull out shelf, folding your clothes doesn’t need to be a drag.

What was your proudest moment as you organised your closet? That feeling of liberty as you let go of pieces and memories which held you back? Or was it that feeling of achievement as you scratched off this project from your to-do list? I cannot wait to hear to how you got on and am looking forward to reading your comment in the comment box below.
